Homework Club
Homework Clubs are about the power of community. Parents, volunteers, teachers, and kids all come together in these weekly sessions. They provide not just learning, but connection and belonging.
This all happens against a background where:
-
One in five New Zealand children - over 200,000 - live in poverty.
-
More than 1 in 10 children experience material hardship, meaning they go without essentials like proper food, shoes, or heating.
-
Thousands of children change schools each year due to housing instability, disrupting friendships and learning.
-
Over half a million New Zealanders access food banks each month.
-
Māori and Pasifika children are disproportionately affected, with higher rates of poverty, lower access to stable housing, and persistent educational inequities.
These are not just statistics. They are kids falling through the cracks of our education and employment systems, not because of lack of ability, but because of lack of opportunity.

Homework Club Supporters
Thanks to the generous support from our sponsors, we have been able to establish Homework Clubs and help hundreds of children throughout New Zealand. This support also allows us to focus on identifying more schools and partnering them with firms, businesses and organisations in their own community to set up additional Homework Clubs.
